What follows is the definition for the term Conveyancing as it relates to mortgages in the UK.

Conveyancing

Conveyancing is the term used to describe the process of passing legal rights of ownership of property from one person to another.

It is a highly complicated process which should be handled by suitably qualified legal representativs, however there are occasions when an individual can deal with a conveyance.

The majority of lenders insist that a solicitor or licensed conveyancer handle the legal work in connection with property purchases.
